We’ve been making coil springs and leaf springs for railway vehicles for many decades. Although almost all new rail cars use coil springs, some of the older models used a unique assembled leaf spring package where the upper springs were attached to the lower springs via wrapper ends that surrounded the eyes of the lower springs.

Railway springs tend to be compact and are required to carry very large loads for their size. Stresses must be managed carefully to ensure a long working life. Our engineering department has the experience to verify all designs meet their requirements. If they don’t, we’re here to help re-design the products until they do!

We’ve been making playground springs for many years. There are two main types - basic compression coil design, where the playground equipment is mounted. And a C-spring design that functions similarly.

Playground springs aren’t particularly highly stressed, but they do carry some pretty precious cargo! We manufacture playground springs with great attention to quality control and verify that stresses and design flaws are worked out before the product is released.

McAllister Industries has considerable experience in manufacturing very large coil springs used for seismic upgrading and constructing new buildings to better resist damage from earthquake and tremors. We have manufactured and sent these products all over the world, including the earthquake sensitive areas.

There is extensive testing and quality controls required for these types of springs. Other forms of seismic protection are available but our expertise is related to spring products.
